Elizabeth has always had a love of beautiful dresses and costumes. From training in theatre costume design at Canterbury College of Art, she went on to work at the Palace Theatre in Watford, creating theatrical costumes for many famous actors and actresses.
She moved to the Midlands in 1985 and started her own label of made to measure clothes.
However it was the Bridal Industry that really captured her creative imagination, and in 1988 she launched her first bridal Collection at the Harrogate bridal trade fair. She began supplying Bridal shops all over the UK, including Harrods and Liberty, where she was the top selling bridal designer in 1989-90. |
In 1994 Elizabeth’s designs were taken up by a Belgian manufacturer of bridal wear Marylise. Her designs were by this time sold all over Europe, with Marylise taking over their manufacture. Since 1999 Elizabeth has been the UK agent for Marylise and operates their UK office from her studio in Warwickshire.
Elizabeth Ayers offers her brides a choice between Marylise bridal gowns and her bespoke service.
